Welcome to Our Website!

The first meeting of The Society of Physicians in Wales was held in the Rockfeller Laboratories of the Welsh National School of Medicine at the Cardiff Royal Infirmary, on Saturday 7th July 1951, with all consultant physicians in general medicine in the Welsh region eligible for membership. The founding members' aims were "The advancement of knowledge of general medicine and related subjects and the promotion of friendship among the members" - these remain the aims of the society. To further promote these aims this website was established in 2009, in time for the Society's 100th meeting, to be held in Cardiff in October 2009, jointly with the Royal College of Physicians of London.
